Art of True Zeal means the process of discovering and building real passion.

My blog’s vision is to make a positive impact in people’s lives, guide people in fulfilling their purpose and also, help solve life challenges.

I have been on this journey of discovery for the past 6 years and it’s time I share my experience so far.

Question 1: Can you introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Janet Reuben Okon
I was born and raised in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, moved to Calabar, Cross River State for my tertiary education at age 17, where I earned a degree in Human Anatomy.
I am a gifted writer. I like reading, listening and watching teachings (sermons, inspirations, etc). I love and enjoy blogging, it’s my desire and it makes me happy. This passion led me to discover and become the Founder of Art of True Zeal Blog.

Question 2: Tell us about your blogging journey
After my waec examination, I traveled to visit my family at Abuja, Nigeria. I attended Sunday Service at Living Faith Church, Goshen and was impacted by the sermon ministered by Bishop David Abioye. I was given an impartation form to fill and pray upon it. I wrote down the university and course I wanted to study, the university life I desired, life after university and my ambition on the impartation form and prayed at midnight as instructed. The next day, I felt different inward. I started applying for admission to different universities and planning the life I desired. Some months later, I declined an admission into a particular university and it felt like my life crashed. It felt like there was darkness in my life and I needed to find light to overcome the darkness. All I asked God for this period of life was, “God, I want what you want for me”. One day, I visited the bookstore, bought a book titled “Change your mindset Change your life” by Brian Tracy, I read the book and I was enlightened. During this period, I liked posting on my social media platforms and I had friends, colleagues from school, family members and people who could relate to my experience.

Also, I had a friend who blogged, I like the idea of blogging, writing of articles and publications, then I discussed with my friend that I want to start blogging and she encouraged me. I decided to expand to a wider audience, i.e. my blog.
I started blogging in 2018 after secondary school. I published my first blog post on 30th November 2018.
I started using “passionate.color” on blogger site as my first blog site and then I moved to “art of true zeal” on WordPress in 2019.
It’s been 6 years of God’s faithfulness! 🥰🎉🎊

Question 3: Tell us about your purpose
I discovered my purpose through my personal development & transformational journey. I met my source, God, who revealed it to me through various ways such as: Studying the Bible (God’s word), the Holy Spirit, prayer, reading books (like “In Pursuit of Purpose” by Dr. Myles Munroe), listening and watching teachings (like “The Ministry of Light: The Journey beyond Salvation” by Apostle Joshua Selman). I kept meditating on the scripture which the Holy Spirit directed me to study and it says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations” ~ Jeremiah 1:5.
Also, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, I could connect my gift, talent, passion to my purpose.
My blog has also played a huge factor in this discovery because the more I write, the more I seek to know why I exist, I seek to know God’s will and at age 23, I’ve discovered God’s purpose for my life.

My purpose is to build.
•To build with God, people and things
•To inspire, encourage, enlighten, educate (e.g. through sharing personal experiences and solving life challenges with solutions).
•To be a positive impact and positive energy (vibrant, energetic, lively and a light).
•To be a voice (For people and nations).

The only distractions I’ve faced in my journey to the discovery of purpose are from social media, my environment and my mindset.
At the early stage of the discovery, it felt difficult because I couldn’t process the journey vividly and how much impact it has in my life. It felt lonely honestly because it’s a personal journey and I didn’t see physical results. Now, I’m really enjoying the journey because I’ve learned a lot and I am looking forward to all that is to come because I believe the best is yet to come 💃💃

Question 4: What has kept you going?
One thing that has kept me going is my relationship with God through the place of prayer, Bible study, listening and watching teachings. This has led me to read books, research, encounter light (spiritual transformation and personal development) and discover my purpose. My partnership with God has made me stay committed, consistent and more passionate and have kept me going.
Also, the support from my Art of true zeal family has kept me going.

Question 5: How will you describe your journey so far?
I will describe my journey as God’s will, Gratitude and God’s faithfulness.
I’m grateful for every time I get to write, type, edit and publish a blog post.
I’m grateful for the faithfulness of God over my life, the people, and nations that my blog has impacted.
I’m grateful to God for trusting me with a seed (blogging).
I thank God for His purpose upon my life, for revealing His will and walking with me daily to fulfill His purpose in my life.
I am grateful that through my blog I have discovered and understood God’s will for my life as I’ve grown to love, believe and trust Him more and share the glory of God to as many as I have these past years. Thank you, Lord! 🙏🏽❤️

Question 6: What has been your biggest joy in this journey?
Getting to know more about God, trusting and loving Him. Discovering my purpose, walking in my prophetic identity and fulfilling my purpose.
Also, my biggest joy is that I get to journey with my Artoftruezeal family and we are always together, holding each other’s hand and living a fulfilling life ❤️.

Question 7: What words of inspiration do you have for the aspiring bloggers?
Discover yourself. Discover your purpose. Meet your source, God, He created you and knows your purpose in life.
Build capacity by studying God’s word, praying, reading books, researching, listening and watching teachings. Build discipline, diligence, perseverance and the staying power because you’ll need it. Practice what you have learned and you will become who and what you have practiced.
